School of Nursing and Adam's Place Announce 2022 Grief Support Sessions

Las Vegas-based nonprofit Adam’s Place is partnering with UNLV School of Nursing to conduct a series of virtual support groups for adults coping with grief. Sessions will take place on the third Thursday of every month, starting Jan. 20. Please register.

Scheduled monthly topics are as follow:

  • Jan. 20: Rethinking New Year's Resolutions
  • Feb. 17: When a piece of your heart is missing on Valentine's Day
  • March 17: Warmer Weather and Warmer Memories (Spring is approaching!)
  • April 21: Growing in our Grief Process: When Seeds become Blooms
  • May 19: The Garden of Grief: What's in your Toolbox?
  • June 16: Summertime is here! Is it OK to take a vacation from grief?

The support groups will be moderated by UNLV Nursing professor Paul Thomas Clements and Theresa Fay-Hillier. As veteran grief and bereavement therapists, the pair has worked for more than two decades with families experiencing all kinds of losses. For the upcoming virtual support sessions, Clements and Fay-Hillier will help adults navigate through issues commonly encountered in the path of ongoing reinvestment in daily life while grieving.

The support groups will be conducted via Zoom every third Thursday of the month from 6 to 7 p.m.
