The University Policy Committee (UPC) invites the campus community to review a newly proposed policy and accompanying procedure: Student Personal Leave of Absence Policy, and Student Personal Leave of Absence Procedures. The policy and the procedure are available on the UPC website.

These include a new policy, and accompanying procedures, on new leave of absence options for students who face extreme financial hardship, who engage in service to the students’ religious faith, who are serving with a foreign aid service of the Federal Government, who are pursuing professional or career advancement, who face certain family issues, or any other extraordinary circumstances beyond their control.

Comments on the proposed policy can be submitted to the UPC email box: policycommittee@unlv.edu. All comments will be forwarded to the policy owner for consideration.

Comments on this policy will be accepted through March 30, 2023.
