Participation in Research Study

Do you have chronic pain? We are looking for participants who are suffering from chronic pain (e.g., back pain, neck pain, joint pains) and interested in using auricular (ear) point acupressure (no needles) to self-manage pain and pain-related symptoms.

You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria:

  • Average pain over the past week is 4 or greater on a scale of 0-10 (0 means no pain, 10 is worst pain imaginable)
  • Pain has persisted for at least 3 months or most days of the week for the past 6 months

All research study sessions and tests are provided at no cost. Participants will be compensated for their participation. This is an NIH-funded study through the National Institute of Nursing Research in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University.

If you are interested in learning more about the study, please call us at 702-544-8426 or email Dr. Jennifer Kawi (co-PI) at
