Part-Time Instructor Credential Policy Available for Comment

The University Policy Committee (UPC) invites the campus community to review a proposed policy: Part-Time Instructor Credential Policy. This policy is available for review on the UPC website.

NSHE Handbook (Title 4, Chapter 3, Section 42.4 a1) requires each institution to create a policy that prompts units to set field-specific minimum credentials of all part-time and contingent instructors teaching credit-bearing undergraduate courses at UNLV that reflects the system and institution's commitment to equal employment opportunity (NSHE Title4, Chapter 3, Section 42.4 a2). The policy also clarifies the process by which units set standards and ask for exceptions to the requirement for minimum credentials.

The Part-Time Instructor Credential Policy will be available for comment through March 25. Please submit comments to the UPC. All comments will be forwarded to the policy owner for consideration.
