Outstanding Thesis/Dissertation and Outstanding Graduate Teaching Awards are Open for Nominations

The Graduate College is now accepting nominations for the Outstanding Thesis/Dissertation Awards and the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Awards. Nominations for both are due Dec. 1.

The Outstanding Thesis/Dissertation Awards honor excellent theses and dissertations successfully defended between Aug. 1, 2020, and Aug. 1, 2021. Each academic college may nominate one outstanding thesis and one outstanding dissertation. In each category (social sciences/humanities/fine arts and biological sciences/mathematics/physical sciences/health sciences/engineering), there is a $1,000 prize for the Outstanding Dissertation author and a $750 prize for the Outstanding Thesis author.

The Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award recognizes graduate students who have demonstrated strong pedagogical skills and successfully taught at least two complete classes as the instructor of record in the last three years at UNLV. The award is only for students who teach at UNLV. Each academic college may nominate one outstanding graduate student teacher.
