New Google Contacts Becomes Default Option Jan. 15

On Tuesday, Jan. 15, the new Google Contacts interface will become the default look for UNLVMail and Rebelmail. If you prefer, you can switch back to classic Contacts until Tuesday, Feb. 12, when the new Google Contacts will become the permanent interface.

The new Google Contacts features include:

  • New user interface: The user interface has been updated with a cleaner design and to match the Gmail interface.

  • Easily get rid of duplicates: Find and merge your duplicate contacts with a few clicks.

  • Faster navigation: Your contacts are easier to navigate with a more intuitive and faster ‘infinite’ scroll.

To access the new Google Contacts, sign in to Google Contacts and click on the Try Contacts preview link located at bottom of the left menu. To go back to the old Contacts, click on the Switch to old version link.

The new Google Contacts will become the default interface on Feb. 12. OIT will send out additional reminders prior to then.
