Join the AFC for a Week of Awareness for Project 150 April 18-24

The Administrative Faculty Committee (AFC) and Project 150 are working together this spring to support homeless high school students in Southern Nevada. Our goal is to bring this organization attention, monetary donations for their youth scholarship program, and the basic necessities needed to keep students in school such as hygienic items, food, and clothes.

We know the past year has been one of our most difficult to overcome in our 64-year history. The perseverance heard through the stories we have shared with one another since March 2020 continues to show ALL UNLV employees' strength and adaptability. Still, as we continue to operate under trying circumstances, the community engagement branch of the AFC strives to move forward UNLV’s mission by supporting one of our core themes: foster community partnerships. Our efforts to collaborate with and help a community partner during the pandemic reminds us of the importance of community as we endure, work, and thrive together. We are excited to collaborate with a community partner that has also had to demonstrate great strength and adaptability throughout this past year.

There are three ways you can get involved below! (Please note: Although the official Week of Awareness doesn't start until Sunday April 18, you can begin any of these options immediately) See how you can make an impact by:

1. Helping us raise $1,500 by April 24 - UNLV Employees can donate to this worthy cause.

2. Taking 1,500 steps and creating awareness for Project 150 by April 24 — through a platform of activity and social media, tag Project 150, post their website, or invite others to give via a donation button

3. Donating items to Project 150 by April 24. See a list of needed items

The AFC thanks you for any consideration regarding your participation in this event. We realize these difficult times are being shared by everyone, including Project 150 and the individuals it serves. Asking at this moment for your participation comes with respectful and sympathetic consideration. Helping others is a common theme of vibrant, thriving communities and we hope projects like these can play even just the smallest role in helping Southern Nevada continue to progress by showing our UNLV spirit.

Please visit our event website for more information as well as specific details regarding donation drop-off sites and hours.
