I Stand With Immigrants Day(s) of Action Oct. 27 & 28

Oct. 28 is the anniversary of the unveiling of the Statue of Liberty, the statue by Emma Lazarus that sits in the harbor outside of New York City to welcome newcomers to America. To that end, Oct. 28 is designated as National Immigrants Day in the United States. To commemorate and recognize the contributions and accomplishments immigrants continue to make to our nation and world, the undocumented student programs is will celebrate these events on Wednesday, Oct. 27, and Thursday, Oct. 28.

Oct. 27: 3x3 Pop-Up Fair Goes Virtual: I Stand with Immigrants Panel

Noon – 1 p.m. on YouTube

Join Nayelli Lopez Rico, undocumented student program resource coordinator, and Michael Kagan, director of the UNLV immigration clinic, as they discuss current laws, practices, and policies related to immigration today.

Oct. 28:  I Stand with Immigrants Day of Action

1 – 3 p.m. In front of The Intersection (SU, Room 121)

Join us as our campus joins more than 100 colleges and universities across the country to stand with immigrants. Come by and share your story or why you #StandWithImmigrants. Participants will create an art piece that exhibits their immigrant experience and will have the opportunity for their art piece to be exhibited outside The Intersection and USP office.
