Geoscience Seminar Featuring Thomas Burbey Nov. 20

The geoscience department weekly seminar presents:

Speaker: Thomas Burbey

Topic: "Using Surface Deformation Signals from Groundwater Pumping for Subsurface Characterization"

Time & Date : Nov. 20,  4 -5 p.m.

Location : LFG, Room 102

He will be discuss how he and his research team include the surface deformations obtained from global positioning system (GPS), interferometric aperture radar (InSAR) and tiltmeters in his research to better understand aquifer response to pumping for aquifer characterization and the genesis and propagation of earth fissures and how recharge can produce deformation signals that can provide understanding of recharge processes.
