Exercise Physiology Study

The UNLV exercise physiology laboratory is conducting a study to determine non-binary predictions of exercise capacity and we are looking for participants. Criteria: 18+ years and willingness to complete gender identity survey, be comfortable completing exercise at high intensity. Compensation: $25 compensation will be given for completion of this study. Other Important Information: Must have no metabolic, renal, or cardiovascular conditions while exercising; you will be pre-screened for health, and it is possible you will not be asked to participate after screening. Study Procedures (at UNLV Exercise Physiology lab, MPE 326): Resting Metabolic Rate - how much energy you use while seated in a comfortable resting position. Estimated aerobic capacity - submaximal test in which you step up and down at a set rate, heart rate will be measured. Aerobic capacity - treadmill run with progressive increases in speed, and then grade. Heart rate and breathing rate will be measured. Will take ~ 2 hours over a single session.
