At 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, UNLV will participate in a test of the Emergency Notification System. An emergency alert will be sent out at this time.
The University Police Department wants to ensure you are prepared when emergency situations arise. This test will help you ensure you are receiving Emergency Alerts and encourage you to make a plan for emergencies and practice your plan regularly. It is critical that you are prepared and know exactly what to do should an emergency arise.
Don’t forget to download the RebelSAFE app, available on the Police Services website.
If you have the app and do not receive alerts on the day of testing, contact University Police Department Assistant Director Louise Hardy at Louise.Hardy@unlv.edu and we will assist you in troubleshooting to ensure you receive future messaging.
Please complete the following directions to troubleshoot RebelSAFE notifications if you have not received them in the past through the app or do not receive them during the upcoming testing:
- Make sure your mobile device operating system has been updated to the newest version
- Make sure notifications are allowed for the RebelSAFE application
- Check your connection to eduroam Wi-Fi, where available.
Additionally, Open the RebelSAFE mobile safety app, and select About/Preferences:

Select MyData Update, Select Check For Updates.

Select the back arrow, go back to About/Preferences page.

Select Notification Settings.

Verify Notifications are enabled. Tap the bottom of the screen to launch the troubleshooter.

Select Send Notification to Device to verify notifications are working.
