In 2020, the state approved Assembly Bill 3, which allowed classified staff to carry over 320 hours (40 days) instead of 240 hours (30 days) of annual leave from one calendar year to the next during calendar years 2020 and 2021.
For the 2022 calendar year, the annual leave carry over limit was reduced to 240 hours. Human Resources' absence management team recently ran a report of employees whose annual leave will exceed the limit as of December 31, 2022. Those impacted have been notified directly.
