It's Asian-American Pacific Islander heritage month and UNLV is taking the time to recognize its AAPI students.
I was scrolling through my Facebook News Feed Thursday morning when a shared status update with multiple photos caught my eye. It was written by someone I didn’t know, UNLV student Naweed Yusufzai, who had blindfolded himself near a busy campus walkway.
Students at UNLV are keeping a close eye on the events unfolding at the University of Missouri. Some are disappointed in Mizzou’s president and his administrative staff.
UNLV is tied for second as the most ethnically diverse campus in the nation, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report.
Ross Bryant’s business card is telling of the kind of outreach he is championing for active military and veteran students attending UNLV this fall. The first director of UNLV’s newly formed Office of Veteran Services has his cellphone number listed prominently on his card. It’s there so veteran students can reach him day or night to talk about anything, Bryant said.
