Nearly 2,000 students officially became graduates at Winter Commencement 2016. Here's a look at their big day.

By the end of the day, UNLV had awarded more than 126,000 degrees, including more than 93,000 bachelor's, 27,000 master's, and 4,800 doctoral and professional degrees.

126,000 and counting

Our oldest graduate at Winter Commencement is 77; the youngest, just 19. The average age for our grads is 27.

27While 84 percent of the graduates are Nevada residents, we had graduates from 32 states and 46 foreign countries. With 53 graduates, China was the most represented country, ahead of Korea (37), India and Mexico (11 each), and the Philippines (10). We also had eight grads from Iran, and one each from Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Togo, and Zimbabwe.

But no matter where our grads came from or what degree they were accepting, their graduation day enthusiasm was contagious.

Listen to the inspiring words our commencements speakers shared.

And remember: It's never to late to congratulate them on social media.
