World Languages and Cultures Students To Gain Experience in Interpreters Practicum

Jun. 12, 2017

Dr. Elena Gandia Garcia and World Languages and Cultures students will work with a new Interpreters Practicum in The Immigration Clinic in the William S. Boyd School of Law this fall. The unique pilot program will allow Spanish students who are studying to be professional interpreters to interpret in the clinic's law cases. Law students also will gain exposure to working with interpreters to communicate with their clients. Organizers say the program is the only one of its kind to be offered at an American university.
