Workforce Update

Mar. 20, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

I want to thank all of you for your unwavering commitment and professionalism during these unusual times. I know many of you are dealing with outside pressures affecting your loved ones and families, so please know that we are taking measures that hopefully will alleviate some of that stress. If you are feeling ill, by all means, stay home.

As a healthcare operation, we are an essential service. Because of that, only a small number of employees can work from home. Those employees will be notified by their supervisor. Unfortunately, it’s not a realistic option for a majority of our employees. Having said that, anyone who considers themselves in the vulnerable population must work from home. If that’s you, please communicate with your supervisor/HR and we will assist in making your transition to remote work as seamless as possible.

In the coming days and weeks, UNLV leadership is expecting additional direction from the governor’s office, possibly further limiting social interaction.

We will continue to provide timely updates.

Again, thank you for all you do.  We will get through this together.

Dr. John Fildes, Dean
