The Valley Health System Welcomes New UNLV Nursing Students with Stethoscope Gift
Representatives from The Valley Health System surprised 48 new UNLV nursing students with a free Littmann stethoscope for each of them. Students use stethoscopes throughout their studies and are responsible for having one during all clinical courses and simulation classes. They must purchase stethoscopes, which typically cost more than $100, prior to the start of classes. Valley Hospital Medical Center’s Ernie Stegall, chief nursing officer, and The Valley Health System’s Gretchen Papez, director of public relations and media relations, presented the gifts.
