Urban Affairs Students Selected as Graduate Rebel Ambassadors

Several Greenspun College of Urban Affairs graduate students were selected by the UNLV Graduate College for programs which enhance students’ research, teaching, networking, and mentoring skills.

Graduate Rebel Ambassadors

Graduate Rebel Ambassadors  participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, share experiences with prospective students, current students, alumni and community members.

The following students were selected as Graduate Rebel Ambassadors:

  • Breanna Boppre, second-year Ph.D. student in the department of criminal justice
  • Tyler Snelling, second-year M.A. student in the department of communication studies
  • Chloe Powell, second-year M.A. student in the department of communication studies

 

Mentorship Certificate Program

The Graduate College’s Mentorship Certificate Program offers students best practices in mentoring for higher education settings.

The following student was selected:

  • Rachel Stephensen, second-year M.A. student in the department of criminal justice

Teaching Certificate Program

Students in the Graduate College Teaching Certificate Program are mentored in effective teaching strategies. Students obtain skills in leading discussions, lecturing, designing a syllabus, and creating a teaching portfolio.

The following students were selected:

  • Breanna Boppre, second-year Ph.D. student in the department of criminal justice
  • David Almanza-Canas, second-year M.A. student in the department of communication Studies
  • Michael Curtis, first-year M.A. student in the department of marriage and family therapy
  • David J. Johnson, first-year M.A. student in the department of marriage and family therapy
  • Courtney McDaniel, second-year M.A. student in the department of communication Studies
  • Taylor Palmer, second-year M.A. student in the department of communication studies
  • Yuliya Yurashevich, a second-year M.A. student in the department of communication studies
