UNLV’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) have signed a memorandum of understanding that will enable the LVGEA to direct small businesses, entrepreneurs, individuals, and organizations to the SBDC to obtain consulting services.
UNLV’s SBDC is a resource for business assistance, providing an array of services, expertise, and training in all areas of business startup. The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance is a membership organization dedicated to developing the economies of Southern Nevada and surrounding communities through regional cooperation, global trade, and global connectivity.
"We couldn't be more excited about the enhanced partnership with UNLV and SBDC," said Jonas Peterson, president and CEO of the LVGEA. "We're stronger by working together, and the end result will be a powerful mix of services designed to grow businesses in Southern Nevada."
Through the new agreement, the SBDC will provide guidance to private-sector leaders interested in developing their businesses in the area. In return, the LVGEA will provide office and conference room space to UNLV’s SBDC to meet with prospective clients. The LVGEA will also provide the SBDC with information that will assist them in helping their clients.
“This agreement will benefit both parties tremendously,” said Zach Miles, associate vice president for economic development. “The SBDC will benefit from having access to a greater number of clients, and the LVGEA will have a great campus resource to help attract more businesses to Southern Nevada.”
Miles added that UNLV will benefit from having new networking opportunities at the LVGEA location.
