UNLV School of Music DMA student will move on to the final round of the 2020 American Trombone Workshop National Solo Competition for the second consecutive year!

Congratulations to UNLV School of Music DMA student Dawid Mżyk, who is one of three trombonists going on to the final round of the 2020 American Trombone Workshop National Solo Competition (Division III, all ages) for the second consecutive year! Dawid will compete in the final round of the competition at Brucker Hall, home of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" in Washington, D.C. on March 5, 2020!

Here are just a few of the competitions Dawid, who is a student of UNLV trombone professor Nathan Tanouye, has either won or been a finalist in since coming to UNLV three years ago:

2018: Winner of the UNLV Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition (Las Vegas)

2019: Finalist in the American Trombone Workshop National Solo Competition (Washington, D.C.)

2019: Finalist in the Classic Alive Artists Competition (Los Angeles)

2019: 1st prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition (performed solo at Carnegie Hall, New York)

The future is very bright indeed for this talented young man!
