UNLV Professor Honored with Global Award
On June 24, at the Global Forum for Education & Learning, UNLV professor of architecture Steffen Lehmann received the Global Top 100 Leader in Education Award, in the category for pedagogical methods and innovation. The event was held at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Steffen Lehmann said: “Thank you to everybody who supported me over the last 30 years in educating young architects at university and in making them passionate about this profession, in teaching-research-practice. Today is a good day. As educators we can change lives. I am still learning myself, and it’s been an exciting journey!” The organizer said: “The nominees were judged on five parameters: overall reach, industry impact, spirit of innovation, future readiness, and market demand. Dr. Lehmann has scored very well on all parameters, and particularly high on industry impact and market demand. As our global education system adapts to new and unfamiliar circumstances, in a world recently turned upside down, we are reminded how much we rely on our best teachers to convey a positive view of the future.”
