UNLV Police Services Notification – Timely Warning Crime Alert (Oct. 21, 2018)

At 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, a student was struck with a handgun on the back of the head and robbed in Lot F at the corner of Tropicana Ave. and South Maryland Parkway. The student declined medical assistance at the scene. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 20-30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and medium build.

Separately, Las Vegas Metro Police is investigating a car theft that occurred off-campus at Lulu Ave. and South Maryland Parkway at 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, with a similar suspect and weapon description.
UNLV Police Services is working with Las Vegas Metro Police to investigate the cases.

  • Save (702) 895-3669 in your phone to contact UNLV Police Services. Calls to 9-1-1 from a non-campus phone go to the Las Vegas Metro Police, which are forwarded to UNLV Police.

  • Download UNLV's RebelSAFE app through iTunes or the Google Play Store. The app will allow you to directly call UNLV Police without going through Las Vegas Metro Dispatch.
