May. 30, 2020

UNLV Division of Percussion professor Dr. Timothy Jones and UNLV percussion students Gabriela Ordoñez Villalobos, Ryan Bond and Ian Christie recorded in late April for the U.K.-based Joby Burgess Virtual Marimba Choir. The music they performed, 'Sleep', written by UNLV alum Eric Whitacre - Composer (BM '95), also featured another UNLV alum, James Doyle (DMA '15), who is now percussion professor at Adams State University. This incredible virtual performance was a global project that included 227 musicians from 40 countries. Beautiful and moving.
