The UNLV Marjorie Barrick Museum is celebrating its fiftieth year of service to the Las Vegas community with a reaffirmation of our mission as a fine arts collecting and research institution. Part of that renewed dedication will take the shape of two short but meaningful words - “of Art” - added to the end of our name.
As a visual commitment to the new title, we approached Luis Carrillo, a senior in the UNLV Graphic Design program with a request to help us explore our branding. Carrillo, who is the Vice President of UNLV’s Student Association of Graphic Artists and a Las Vegas Chapter member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, brings five years of professional freelance experience to a design that takes its inspiration from the Barrick’s distinctive ceiling panels. The Museum would like to thank him for his enthusiastic professionalism, with additional thanks to Val Lehnard and Ed Fuentes for their collaboration and support.
