UNLV Graduate College Names 2017-18 Graduate Faculty Fellows

Donovan Conley, associate professor, communication studies.

Jul. 21, 2017

The highly competitive Graduate Faculty Fellows Program allows UNLV faculty and the Graduate College to work together on particular projects each academic year. The program brings faculty expertise and insight into the Graduate College as well as builds and sustains close relationships between the college and the departments and programs it serves.

Congratulations to this year’s Graduate Faculty Fellows, who will begin their one-year appointment in August:

  • Donovan Conley (Department of Communication Studies) will work with the Graduate & Professional Student Association as well as the Graduate College Student Success Institute on professional development programming; provide communication training to students participating in the Graduate College’s Graduate Student Showcase, Rebel Grad Slam, and more; and implement the Graduate College’s new Communication Certification.
  • Janet Dufek (Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences) will work on graduate student recruitment plans; recruitment, retention, progression and completion workshops; trainings for National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health funding opportunities; and professional development and career support events.
  • Jennifer Rennels (Department of Psychology) will work on alternative-academic pathways and support, career and professional development, statistical data analysis, career/alumni tracking, guidelines for program requirements, the graduate faculty handbook, and updates to appeal processes.
