Timely Warning Notification – Motor Vehicle Thefts – Golf Carts

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) issues the following notice in compliance with the “Timely Warning” provisions of the Clery Act. Timely warnings are intended to provide information so recipients can make informed decisions about their safety. University Police Services provides the following information.
Date/Time of Incident: From September 15, 2020 to October 23, 2020, all hours
Classification of Clery Crime: Motor Vehicle Thefts
Location of Incident: Campus wide
Description of Incident: From September 15, 2020 to October 23, 2020, there have been seven golf carts reported stolen on the UNLV main campus.  Follow up investigation shows this appears to be a coordinated effort by individuals taking the golf carts, placing them onto a trailer connected to a pickup truck staged adjacent to campus, and subsequently removing them from the scene.  The pickup truck is a two door, white in color, with some type of colored design on both doors.  Additionally, the suspect individuals were also seen on surveillance video being dropped off on campus from a green four-door sedan.
