Termination and End Job Workday process for Student Employees

Sep. 29, 2021

In order to terminate or end a student employment job, you must input an “effective date” for the student’s last day worked. This date should always be the last day a student logged paid hours.

In order to find this report, please enter “Time Blocks Report (New Hours Worked Report) - HCM - CR (NSHE)” into the search bar. Note: Only direct supervisors or those with a timekeeper role may view this report.

To effectively use this report, please follow these instructions:

  • In the “start date” field, enter the first day of the month of the employee’s last day worked
    • If you don’t remember the month, back-date it to the beginning of the term they started work
  • In the “worker” field, input the NSHE employee ID number or the employee’s name
  • Click “ok” to run the report
  • When reviewing the report, utilize the “sort descending” option in the “calculated date” column to pull up the most recent clock-in for the employee
    • If the student has multiple jobs, ensure that the clock-in report is for the correct position number
  • Use the most recent clock-in for the effective end date in the termination or end job business process

The pay-through-date on terminations is always the last day of the following month. For example, if the end date is 5/2/21, the pay through date is 6/30/21.
