SOA Student Returns from research in Asia
Congratulations Iwona Reducha! The M. Arch Candidate in the HD Concentration just returned from research travel in Asia.
“This summer I was granted a fellowship from the Northeast Asia Economic Forum sponsored by the United Nations to travel to South Korea to conduct research, network, and learn about economic and social development of Northeast Asia. As an emerging professional in the hospitality design industry, I found it extremely beneficial to learn about the impact Integrated Resorts (IR’s) have on the overall economy and tourism in the region. The tourism industry in Northeast Asia is anticipated to surpass many existing industries in the near future and will be a key driver for future economic development.
At the forum, awareness was also brought to the implementation of different energy solutions such as wind energy, solar energy, and the use of microgrids for increased energy security. Because the environment is a shared resource, national cooperation is needed. Our future commitments to renewable energy sources and sustainable practices will help assure not only stronger economies but also a stronger international community.”
