SOA Faculty Speaking at Two Upcoming Symposia

Feb. 7, 2018

Assistant Professor Joshua Vermillion is an invited speaker at two upcoming international symposia—the Taylor X Symposium hosted by the Laboratory for Integrative Design at the University of Calgary; and the International Conference on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: the impact of the infosphere on human life, hosted by the Associazione Culturale Luigi Bonazzi at the University of Perugia, Italy.

Taylor X brings to Calgary leading designers, thinkers and makers across scales to discuss the ways in which research is informing contemporary critical practice. Speakers will discuss models of practice that integrate computational tools for the design and fabrication of projects that span scales and typologies. Over 4 days of roundtable discussions, workshops and lectures participants will engage in a lively discussion about the nature of contemporary design practice. Lecturers will present their work in the fields of Architecture, Public Art and Making and engage in a conversation about the importance of research and development in their work.

Information for the International Conference on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence is forthcoming.
