Show Off Your Research Innovation at CES!

UNLV student showcases smart microwave at CES
Nov. 8, 2017

The Division of Research and Economic Development has secured an exhibitor booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) taking place January 9-12, 2018, at the Sands/Venetian. This will be the second year UNLV has been able to participate as an exhibitor at the event.

Last year proved to be a great opportunity to interact with "techies" from all over the world. There were many collaborative discussions, and connections were made with parties interested in research, economic development, and commercializing new and exciting innovations. UNLV participants included deans, staff from Research and Economic Development, students from various departments, and even President Jessup. Further, we were able to showcase an engineering student team’s senior design project at the booth, providing a great opportunity for that project to get attention and for the student innovators to speak with attendees and gather some job and collaboration leads in the process.

Once again, this year, we hope to feature ongoing research, innovations, and opportunities to collaborate with UNLV. This is a prime opportunity to raise the visibility of colleges, schools, and departments at UNLV. We invite you to submit one-page abstracts of ongoing research, student projects, or commercialization activities that we could feature at the booth. We have several in mind from our interactions with campus and the community but want to present what you are passionate about and give faculty and students an opportunity to speak with companies, entrepreneurs, and others.

If your project has an associated visual (like a working model), please let us know so we can try to accommodate it within our booth. We only have one booth and may not be able to display everything. Innovations being featured should be smaller scale (capable of easily fitting in a 4x4 foot area) and in working condition.

The deadline for submission of innovation abstracts is December 3. You may make your submission here. Please also submit the names of any students you think may be interested in volunteering at the UNLV booth.

We look forward to hearing from you, and we hope to see you at CES!
