The Science and Engineering Building has an array of seismic sensors throughout the building collecting data on how the building moves in the event of an earthquake. Real-time seismic data is available to students and researchers. In May 2013, this array of sensors was featured in a USGS Fact Sheet. According to the fact sheet the SEB is the only Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building instrumented in partnership with the National Strong Motion Project. Data from the seismic array will soon be available to view on the Science on Display monitors in the SEB lobby.
