School of Music Masters Student Wins The American Music Prize Student Composition Competition

Congratulations to UNLV Division of Jazz and Commercial Music Masters student Jorge Machain, who was recently announced the winner of the The American Music Prize Student Composition Competition. He won for his composition “Bite The Bullet”, which was commissioned by UNLV Division of Wind Band Studies professor Tom Leslie, and performed and recorded by the UNLV Wind Orchestra.

Jorge is a composition student of UNLV jazz professor Nathan Tanouye, and a trumpet student of UNLV Trumpet Studio professor Dr. Barbara Hull.
