Save the Date: Police Services' 14th Annual Police Awareness Day

Come join YOUR UNLV Department of Police Services at the 14th Annual Police Awareness Day. The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Valerie Pida Plaza (north side of the Student Union). Students, faculty, and staff will get an opportunity to see the officers' equipment and vehicles up close, and most importantly, UNLV's police officers will get an opportunity to speak to the public regarding their crime and safety concerns both on and off campus.

What can you expect to see when you attend UNLV's Police Awareness Day?

  • Police officers and dispatchers will be available to answer your questions, handle your concerns, and give valuable crime prevention and safety advice.
  • Student Security Services will provide information about their program and after-hours security escorts to vehicles.
  • Staff will be on hand to demonstrate Police Services' RebelSAFE line of safety technology services and help students enroll in UNLV's RebelSAFE Mobile Safety App.
  • Police Records staff will be available to discuss the Lost & Found program.
  • Staff will be available to register bicycles, laptops, iPads and other personal belongings.
  • There will also be a variety of literature on both crime prevention and personal safety available for your interest.

In addition to Police Awareness Day, the department will be staging a variety of events throughout the week leading up to the big event that will also be free and open to the public. Here is a list of the events the department has scheduled leading up to Police Awareness Day on October 5th.

We encourage you to come out and meet YOUR Department of Police Services.
