Reminder - Video & Audio Recording Policy
The Video & Audio Recording Policy governs the installation and usage of all surveillance cameras for all UNLV owned, leased, or controlled properties. Video surveillance shall be operated by UNLV to enhance public safety and security, to facilitate criminal investigations, and to manage emergency response situations. This policy does not cover, and is not intended to restrict the use of audio and video technology in the execution of teaching, learning, and academic research projects.
All video surveillance installations and requests to review video surveillance require approval from the Chief of Police. It is unlawful for any person to engage in any kind of surreptious or covert video surveillance. Requests for appeals or potential misuse of video surveillance equipment should be directed to the Committee on Video Surveillance. If you are an administrator of a surveillance system in your area or currently utilize surveillance cameras in your area, please contact Ryan Doyle to schedule a surveillance site survey.
