A UNLV start-up is developing a potentially revolutionary technology to prevent infections that commonly occur in chickens raised for food. Based on the research of biochemistry professor Ernesto Abel-Santos, Able Therapeutics is focused on Clostridium difficile (C. diff) infections, a common disease that affects chickens and must be treated with antibiotics.
