Passing of Emeritus Faculty Member Malcolm "Mac" Graham
Emeritus professor of mathematics Malcolm "Mac" Graham, 96, passed away Jan. 17 at the Wentworth of Las Vegas Memory Care. The U.S. Army veteran moved to Las Vegas in he fall of 1956 to join 11 other professors in becoming the core, full-time teaching staff of the Southern Regional Division of the University of Nevada — the school that one day would become UNLV. At 32, he was the youngest of the group. He retired in 1985. Among his survivors is his wife of 67 years, Carolyn. A family memorial service will be held in the spring. Donations may be made to the Malcolm and Carolyn L. Graham Scholarship Fund at the College of Sciences.
Graham and his wife were generous supporters of UNLV with an endowed scholarship in the math department. The family has asked that donations to honor his life be made to the Malcolm and Carolyn L. Graham Endowed Scholarship through the UNLV Foundation. Donations may be made online.
