Paid Student Positions Available: AmeriCorps 4-H Program

The AmeriCorps 4-H Program Coordinator for the University of Nevada Reno- Extension here in Las Vegas is looking for interested individuals (ages 18 and over) to engage in national service and provide 4-H educational programming to urban youth. Our program offers a monthly living stipend, personal and professional development, and an educational award upon successful completion of service that can be used to pay educational expenses such as tuition and student loans.

The Clark County AmeriCorps 4-H Grows Here Project is funded through a federal grant which seeks to improve students’ knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), diversity & inclusion, environmental & outdoor science, agriculture, healthy living, civic engagement, practical skills, and communicative/expressive arts. Our 4-H Positive Youth Development Program is aimed at youth ages 5-19, with an emphasis on first-generation, low-income and middle school-aged youth, and youth of color. The goal of our program is to provide access to after-school enrichment programming and to assist youth to grow intellectually, develop leadership, and promote life skills that can be applicable to their daily experiences.
