Jan. 8, 2018

The goal of the NIH Programmatic Grant Collaborative event is to build teams that will pursue programmatic grants awarded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The NIH offers four programs for states with low NIH funding, including the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Program. Dr. Schiller will introduce all four programs and funding mechanisms to attendees. The group will then review each mechanism and propose grant ideas, teams, and primary investigators for future NIH grant applications.

While collaboration with UNLV's Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine (NIPM) will be discussed, this event and its goal are not limited or exclusive to NIPM. Grant opportunities to be discussed at this event center around education, research, and the involvement of underrepresented groups.

When: Friday, Feb. 16, from 5-7 p.m.

Where: Harry Reid Center (HRC) 112, Conference Room

Presented by: Dr. Martin Schiller, UNLV NIPM and School of Life Sciences
