New! Schedule Available for UNLV Research Week, Set for Oct. 12-16
A variety of activities designed to highlight research at UNLV will be held during “UNLV Research Week” Oct. 12-16.
UNLV’s Division of Research and Economic Development will partner with other university units and organizations to host events across campus, including an undergraduate research forum and poster session, a technology transfer expo, tours of research facilities, and a panel discussion with graduate students discussing their involvement in research.
A link to a schedule of all Research Week events is posted in the upper right corner of this webpage under the heading "File Attachments." Contact information is available at the bottom of the schedule. Please RSVP as soon as possible for events requiring reservations; seating is limited.
The week’s events will culminate with “Research @ UNLV,” an annual presentation by Vice President for Research and Economic Development Tom Piechota on the status of campus research. This event is scheduled for Oct. 16 at 11:30 a.m. in the Science and Engineering Building.
“We are very excited to bring attention to the amazing research and scholarly and creative activity being performed at UNLV,” he said. “There are a number of activities, and we hope to offer even more next year.”
During the week, the division will also hold its annual “Got Research?” events for new faculty, who will learn about the offices and functions that support research at UNLV. The Offices of Sponsored Programs, Research Integrity, and Economic Development will discuss their services. Several other events focus on faculty and student research projects.
Members of the Southern Nevada community will be invited to attend the week’s events.
In addition to the Division of Research and Economic Development, sponsors of the event include the UNLV Libraries, the Graduate College, CSUN, the Provost’s Office, and the Office of Economic Development.
