New Proposal Development Manager Hired in Office of Sponsored Programs

The Division of Research and Economic Development would like to announce the arrival on campus of Carol Brodie, the new Proposal Development Manager in the Office of Sponsored Programs.

Formerly the director of research administration at the University of the Pacific, Brodie has extensive professional experience helping individual and multidisciplinary consortia locate funding opportunities and develop proposals. She also has experience coordinating training programs in proposal development and grant writing; providing editing resources and writing institutional information sections; and leading and coordinating the proposal process for multidisciplinary/multi-institutional proposals. In addition to her work at the University of the Pacific, she also worked at The Ohio State University and Capital University.

In her role at UNLV, Brodie will provide proposal editing services for a wide range of activities, giving priority to large, multidisciplinary projects; will offer editing assistance on individual projects as time permits; will coordinate large, multidisciplinary proposals throughout the entire proposal development process to assure strong and timely proposal submissions; will assist faculty in locating  funding opportunities for targeted multidisciplinary groups; will provide grant-writing workshops; and will coordinate with existing grant editors across campus and foster a grant writer/editor network.

Brodie holds an Ed.D. in education from University of the Pacific, as well as a master’s degree in natural resources and a bachelor's degree in agriculture, both from The Ohio State University.
