New Black/African American Program Coordinator Hired!
The office of Student Diversity & Social Justice has hired Egypt Howard as its Black/African American Program Coordinator!
Howard holds a master's degree in social science as well a bachelor's degree in multicultural and gender studies with a minor in African American studies from California State University, Chico. Her previous experience as an assistant program coordinator before arriving at UNLV allowed her to work with students from various cultural backgrounds. She helped develop programs both on and off-campus while finding ways to support their voices being heard and represented on their campus.
Her research passions include leadership and Blackness, Black students' experiences within higher education, and the matrix of domination in regard to working moms (second shifting). In her downtime, she enjoys playing video games with her family, watching basketball, cooking new and unique dishes, and swimming.
