National Public Health Week at UNLV!

Next week is public health week! Join the UNLV Public Health Student Association and UNLV chapter of Delta Omega for a series of public health events running from April 3-6.
Monday, April 3rd: Pinwheels for Prevention Resource Fair
Student Union Amphitheater, 10:00 AM - 2:00PM
The PHSA is teaming up with Prevent Child Abuse Nevada and other campus and community organizations to host a public health resource fair and pinwheel "planting" to raise awareness about preventing child abuse. We will also be giving away t-shirts, snacks, and more!
Tuesday, April 4th: Walk and Talk with Dean Gerstenberger
12-12:30 PM - Meet in the lobby of BHS
School of Community Health Sciences Dean Dr. Shawn Gerstenberger will be leading a 30-minute walk around campus at lunchtime to integrate physical activity into our daily routines in support of the American Public Health Association's 1 Billion Steps Challenge. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Dean Gerstenberger and other participating faculty and staff! There will also be giveaways!
Wednesday, April 5th: Healthy Rebels Stress Management Presentation
2:00 - 3:00 PM in BHS 131
Peer educators with the UNLV RSO Healthy Rebels will be presenting about mental health and techniques for stress management! Snacks and giveaways will be provided!
Thursday, April 6th: Panel - Graduate Programs in Public Health
2:30 - 4:00 PM in BHS 132
SCHS graduate students and faculty will be participating in a panel about graduate programs in public health. All interested students are encouraged to attend and learn about applying to graduate school and succeeding in graduate programs in public health. Snacks and giveaways will be provided!
