Message to faculty and staff: New adjustments to operations and courses
We are reaching out with further adjustments to help reduce COVID-19 transmission in our university and surrounding community. In line with directives from Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and Nevada System of Higher Education Chancellor Melody Rose, UNLV is implementing the measures below.
Building closures beginning at 5 p.m. today through Sunday, Jan. 10:
- Student Recreation Center
- Student Union
Health services will continue to be offered by appointment only through the Faculty and Staff Treatment (FAST) Center and the Student Health Center. Mental health services continue to be offered through telehealth and online.
Building closures (now beginning) at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 10:
- University Libraries
- Computer labs
Any employee who can work remotely is expected to do so. Please consult with your direct supervisor.
Additionally, UNLV is currently evaluating all in-person classes to ensure room capacity is at or below 25%. We will distribute a list of classes that may be above this limit through deans and chairs. Instructors of any courses with in-person attendance over the 25% threshold must adjust class meetings or move to remote instruction beginning Monday, Nov. 30, through the end of the fall semester to stay below the 25% limit.
Any adjustments in health science programs, including the schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, Nursing and Integrated Health Sciences, will come directly from deans
Thank you for your flexibility and adaptability during this challenging year. We know how difficult it is to make last minute adjustments and we are very grateful that you have remained agile.
