Maria Marinch named Executive Director for the National Institute for the Advancement of Education
UNLV’s College of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Maria Marinch has been appointed as executive director for the recently-formed National Institute for the Advancement of Education. A triple-degree UNLV graduate, Dr. Marinch joins the institute after serving as the chief communications officer and engagement officer for the Clark County School District where she oversaw five district departments while guiding community and parent engagement in alignment with the FOCUS: 2024 Strategic Plan. During her tenure as the executive director of inclusive learning and engagement with the College of Southern Nevada, she served as the college’s chief diversity officer, implemented its diversity action plan, designed employee diversity training, and worked with K-12 partners on a number of initiatives to support student journeys from high school to higher education. Her experience also includes teaching for the Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies as well as for the university’s foreign languages department.
In her new role, Dr. Marinch will develop, enact and oversee programs, partnerships, and activities for the institute, which include the ALL-IN Urban Residency Program, Paraprofessional Pathways Program, Las Vegas Community School Academy and the Nevada Institute on Teaching and Educator Preparation Fellowship Program.
