Lee Business School Names Staff Award Winners

Three staff members have been selected as 2014 Lee Business School Staff Award winners for their professionalism, work ethic, teamwork and customer service.

Classified Staff Award

Sonja Longoria

Administrative Assistant IV, Department of Accounting

Junior Professional Staff Award (one to five years of service)

John Starkey

Academic Advisor, Undergraduate Advising

Senior Professional Staff Award (more than five years of service)

Janet Runge

Enrichment Coordinator, Entrepreneurial Programs & Associate Director, Center for Entrepreneurship

"These winners model the qualities of outstanding employees. They represent the best of our staff, and we are proud to have them among our ranks,” said Dean Brent Hathaway.

The winners were chosen by a selection committee from more than 90 nominations from students, faculty and staff. The awards were revived this year to recognize exemplary classified and professional staff who have made significant contributions during the school year. Each winner will receive a plaque and a check for $2,000. 

In addition to her Lee Business staff award, Longoria received the 2014 President's Classified Employee of the Year, Second Place award. The annual awards program, sponsored by the UNLV Classified Staff Council, was held June 22.
