Lee Business School Names 2013 Alumna of the Year
Marketing executive Darcy Neighbors has been selected the Lee Business School's 2013 Alumna of the Year for her success in business and commitment to UNLV and the community.
Neighbors ('89 BSBA Marketing) is founder and CEO of CIM Marketing Partners, a marketing and consulting firm serving legal, financial, real estate development and construction, and other professional clients in numerous states.
Neighbors also has made her mark through community service. She is the founder of DJs for PJs, a charitable organization that has collected nearly 72,000 new pairs of pajamas for needy children in Southern Nevada since 2003.
"There are so many qualities to admire about Darcy from her professional drive to her commitment to helping those in need," said Laurie Johnson, assistant director of development and alumni relations.
"She represents the Lee Business School so well in her professional and personal life. We are proud to recognize her as our 2013 Alumna of the Year."
The business school and its alumni chapter hosted a reception honoring Neighbors on Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. in the Richard Tam Alumni Center at UNLV. Along with other college alumni of the year, she was recognized by the UNLV Alumni Association on Nov. 1 during homecoming festivities.
Neighbors is active on a number of professional boards and associations. She is past president of the Legal Marketing Association - Southwest chapter, and the Las Vegas chapter of the American Marketing Association. She also serves on the Department of Marketing and International Business' Executive Advisory Board in the Lee Business School.
Neighbors was inducted into the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Las Vegas Hall of Fame in 2011 and was chosen the first recipient of its Entrepreneur of the Year award.
