Instructional Development and Research at UNLV

May. 20, 2014

As the Executive Vice President and provost, I am pleased to announce a new resource for all of us who teach at UNLV.  Instructional Development and Research supports the professional development of all members of the UNLV teaching community through a program of research, consultation, events and resources designed to promote research-based teaching and learning practices across the campus and online.  A full directory of services and resources is available on the new Instructional Development and Research website. These services respond to input from 292 faculty/instructors who completed an online survey in March, along with other important indicators of instructional development needs and opportunities at UNLV.

Contributions from ten Instructional Development and Research Working Group members and their units make these services possible. Mary-Ann Winkelmes, Coordinator of Instructional Development and Research, coordinates their collaborative efforts. The group welcomes suggestions and invites all members of UNLV’s teaching community to an August 21 event, 9:00 – 11:00 am, “Research-based Assignments/Projects that Inspire UNLV Students’ Learning.”
