How Old is too Old for Swim Lessons?
In Las Vegas, swim lessons are primarily marketed towards children aged 3-13 and that 3-13 is the age to learn how to swim. This is a very common misconception! People of all ages and abilities can learn how to swim with proper instruction. At the SRWC, we have lessons for people of all ages that are taught by our wonderful American Red Cross trained instructors.
Childrens’ Group Swim Lessons
At UNLV’s SRWC we offer lessons for children starting at 6 months! We offer Parent/ Child classes, Preschool 1 and 2, Level 1, 2, 3 and 4. These classes are offered Saturday mornings and weekday nights from 6-7pm.
Adult Group Swim Lessons
Learning how to swim is for adults too! We offer Beginner and Intermediate swim lessons at the SRWC. All of our lessons are taught in a safe learning environment that focus on water safety and basic skills (beginner) and skill refinement (intermediate). Beginner is offered Tuesday/ Thursdays from 7-8pm and Saturdays from 11-12 am. Intermediate is offered Monday/ Wednesday from 7-8.
Fitness Swim is for adults who are looking for a workout with peers. One of our trained instructors will provide a workout and stroke refinement feedback to all participants. Fitness swim is every T/TH from 7-8pm and Wednesday mornings from 7-8 am.
Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons are a great option for anyone with a hectic schedule. You work with your instructor to find the best time for you to meet. Private swim lessons are also fantastic for people that want to work on very specific goals and those that want to continue to practice in between group classes!
