February Scheduling Updates
Hello Associate Deans, Department Chairs and Schedulers,
We hope this email finds you well. It is the intention of this communication to provide you with the most up to date information regarding course scheduling for the Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 semesters.
The final exam tables for the Spring 2019 semester are currently being created and tested this week. We plan to have the final exam schedule available on the student and faculty MyUNLV accounts by February 25th. We will send out notification when this process is complete. When the final exam table is complete and visible to the campus it is imperative to review the final exam location, date, and time. Please be aware that some courses with 2 day meeting patterns can potentially have their final exam on the second day. (ex. A Monday & Wednesday course can have the final exam on Wednesday). It is also crucial for each department to review all courses on your department schedule and notify our office if you see any issues or concerns or if there will be no room required for the final exam.
Fall 2019 Schedule Open Build:
The fall 2019 schedule will be closed for further changes on Sunday 02/25/2019 and the process for course placement will begin 02/26/2019. If you still have inaccurate or incomplete scheduling data your opportunity to receive an ideal classroom will be greatly reduced. Strategies to increase your chances of receiving an optimal classroom is to follow standard meeting patterns.
In an effort to better communicate and work alongside the various departments across campus regarding course scheduling, we have sent you spreadsheets that need your immediate attention. These spreadsheets have multiple tabs at the bottom with the various areas of concern that need to be addressed before the close of the schedule. We have created a google spreadsheet where you can indicate your combined courses, courses requiring computer labs, identify instructors teaching back to back courses, and identify courses with no need for a final exam classroom.
The schedule for Spring 2020 is now available for you to start building. There will be no schedule roll for Spring 2020. The Spring 2020 semester will require you to build out your schedules from beginning to end. If you or any employee who works with the schedule need training or if you have questions regarding scheduling please feel free to contact us. We have also provided a Scheduling Reference Guide which is attached to this email and is located under our faculty and staff resources tab on the registrar website, to assist you during your schedule build.
