Faculty Affairs offers workshops on best practices in faculty searches and hiring
The Office of Faculty Affairs, in October, will hold interactive workshops on Best Practices in Faculty Searches and Hiring. The Offices of Faculty Affairs, Human Resources, Diversity Initiatives, and Compliance jointly developed the workshop materials and integrated best practices from each unit’s perspective.
The workshops will discuss preparing the job announcement, recruiting a diverse pool of applicants, minimizing bias in the search process, and documenting the search process. Who should attend?
Department chairs, search committee chairs, and faculty serving on search committees are encouraged to attend, and no registration is required.
When will the workshops be held?
Two workshop sessions will be held in October. The same materials will be presented at each session.
- 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 in the Student Union room 208A
- 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 18 in the Student Union room 209
